About Garden State Sixes
Garden State Sixes was created to support and promote the exciting, fast-paced Sixes format of lacrosse, the same style played by Team USA, the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), and set to debut in the Olympics in 2028. A group of passionate coaches joined forces to establish Garden State Sixes, aiming to provide opportunities for players to experience and excel in this innovative version of the game.
Our mission is to grow the sport by offering competitive events, training opportunities, and tournaments that showcase the speed, skill, and excitement of Sixes lacrosse. We’re committed to helping players adapt to this unique format, paving the way for their success on both full field and sixes game formats!

Sixes Rules that are different than field lacrosse
- 1 Goalie and 5 Field Players on field at a time.
- All field players use short sticks (no long sticks in sixes lacrosse)
- Faceoff only to begin the game and the second half and overtime play.
- Field players start inside the two point arc on either side of the field for the face off. Once possession is gained then all players can move throughout on the field. There is no offsides in sixes lacrosse.
- 30 Second Shot clock - Resets with the change of possession.
- 2 Point Arc - 14 yards from the goal line
- Shots that go out of bounds are a turnover. No running to the endline for possession.
- No offsides – all players can travel the entire field.
- All other standard USA/NFHS Lacrosse rules apply as it pertains to game play.
